About

Avalara

We’re Avalara. We’re defining the relationship between tax and tech.

We’ve already built an industry-leading cloud compliance platform, processing nearly 40 billion customer API calls and over 5 million tax returns a year.

Last year, we became a billion-dollar business, and our tribe expanded by a cool thousand people - there’s nearly 5,000 of us now.  Our growth is real, and we’re not slowing down - not until we’ve achieved our mission - to be part of every transaction in the world.

Your Responsibilities

  • Translate Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders and senior product managers to understand and capture high-level business needs, and convert them into detailed, technical requirements for the engineering team.
  • Detailed Requirement Documentation: Write clear and concise user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria that accurately reflect business goals, ensuring engineering teams have actionable direction.
  • Collaborate with Engineering: Serve as the primary point of contact for engineering teams during development, providing clarity on product requirements and facilitating communication between business and technical stakeholders.
  • Track Progress to Closure: Manage the end-to-end tracking of product development activities, ensuring timelines are met, blockers are resolved, and product delivery aligns with business expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Work closely with QA teams to ensure that products are thoroughly tested, meet acceptance criteria, and deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Support Product Launches: Assist with the product launch process, including creating supporting documentation and communicating product features to internal teams.
